A Practical View on Integration of Risk Management and Human Factors

The present paper explores the integration of risk management and human factors through a proposed model that operationalizes mapping of interfaces through structure driven risk management combined with Human Factors analysis. Furthermore, the model will be discussed using a developing case published by the Danish train operating company, Danske Statsbaner (DSB), to explain the integration model with a tangible example as well as showcase the relevance of the integration model. The framing and exploration of decisions through an integrated model for risk management and human factors allows mapping implicit interfaces more explicitly and creates a clearer overview of upsides and drawdowns of decisions, informing decision makers to a higher degree.
